Rava Upma-Simple Breakfast Recipe
Upma is very simple and easy to make breakfast / dinner dish.Rava upma is traditional dish from South India.This upma is usually served with chutney/small banana/any veg or non-veg curries.
Ingredients
Roasted Rava-1 cup
Onion-1(sliced)
Dry red chilli-2
Mustard seeds-1 tsp
Urad dal-1/2 tsp
Ginger-1/2 inch(chopped)
Carrot-1 (small,chopped)
Curry leaves-1 sprig
Water-2-2 1/2 cups
Salt-as required
Oil-2 tbsp
Method
1)Heat oil in heavy bottomed pan,add mustard seeds and urad dal and allow it to crackle.
2)Add onion,carrot,dry red chilli,ginger and curry leaves.Saute until onion turn transparent.
4)Add 2 cups of water and required salt.
5)When the water starts boiling add roasted rava and mix well.
6)Close with a lid and cook for 2-3 minutes.
