Parippu Vada (Dal Vada / Lentil Fritters)-Traditional Kerala snack
Parippu vada / dal vada is a tasty,vegetarian snack.Toor dal or chana dal is used to make this recipe.Best combination of parippu vada is with black tea and small banana(cheru pazham).

Ingredients:
Toor dal / chana dal - 1 cup
Shallots(cheriyulli) - 10 nos(finely chopped)
Ginger - 1 piece(finely chopped)
Red chillies - 3 no(chopped)
Curry leaves - few(chopped)
Salt - as needed
Coconut oil - for deep frying
Method:
1) Wash and soak the toor dal in water for 2 hours.Drain the water completely from the dal.Grind dal to a coarse paste without adding water.
2) Add shallots,ginger,red chillies,curry leaves and salt.Mix well.Make small balls with the dal mix.
3) Flatten each ball using your palms.Heat oil in a pan and deep fry the parippu vadas until they become golden brown.

- Serve parippu vada with small banana and a glass of black tea.
