Kerala style Crab Masala(Njandu Masala)




Ingredients

For marinating crabs

Crabs-500 gm
Chilli powder-1 tsp
Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
Coriander powder-1 tsp
Salt-to taste
Water

For crab masala

Onions-3 nos.(sliced)
Tomato-1( chopped)
Green chilli-2 nos.
Ginger-1 piece(chopped)
Garlic-4 nos.(chopped)
Chilli powder-1 tsp
Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
Coriander powder-1 tsp
Pepper powder-1 tsp
Garam masala- 1/2 tsp
Salt-to taste
Water
Oil
Curryleaves
Coriander leaves

Method

1) Wash and cut the crabs.Marinate the crabs with chilli powder,turmeric powder,coriander powder and salt.Keep aside.Heat oil in a pan add onions and cook.


2)Add garlic,ginger and green chillies.Then add chopped tomato, fry well with medium flame.Add chilli powder,turmeric powder,coriander powder,pepper powder,garam masala and marinated crabs.Mix well.Add enough water and salt.Cook well.


3)Add curry leaves and coriander leaves.
